MBC President Kristina Lawson Interview with the Daily Journal is missing something

I was searching on YouTube to see if the Medical Board of California has uploaded its video for the December 2025 meeting, when I came across this interview with Kristina Lawson.

It's not exactly a hard-hitting interview, but after I listened to the whole thing I realized she hadn't mentioned the MBC - not once.  I even searched the transcripts to make sure.  The interview was mostly about how great her career has been.
That certainly is an elephant in the room someone forgot to mention.  What kind of jounalist doesn't ask a single question about the one area where her opinion is impactful to millions of residents of California.  I'm trying to make the case that MBC Board Members should be paid, even though they are obviously doing a crappy job.  The duties of an MBC board member position is way out of the scope of a volunteer job.  There are lots of reasons why they should be paid, but one of them is that "working for free" just raises too many questions.  Every board member may be working for a different reason, and we don't know what that is.   Is it prestige?  Something they want to accomplish?

Enhance their professional credentials?  It could be anything, including, "future business contacts".  Ms. Lawson always seems to stress that she is a managing partner for an "environmental law firm" and that may be their specialty, but they have other practice areas that are highly relevant- like their Medical Staff Services.  Here's the description from their website.

I'm absolutely not alleging anything, but if nothing else she will certainly get future business, either directly or indirectly from her position as President of the MBC.   She opened the last Quarterly Meeting by praising doctors who worked on Thanksgiving.  Fine, but lots of other people and professions did as well, and she was supposed to be representing all of us.
